Fjällbacka

At Bottna Inn, we have a very special fondness for Fjällbacka, as I am a guide in this beautiful coastal location and have worked at Fjällbacka Tourist Information for several years. Ask me anything about the town and you’ll get a well-grounded answer!

The seaside promenade is bustling with visitors during the summer, there are classic “raggar” car cruises, nightclubs, the stage at Bônn featuring well-known artists, and much more. Camilla Läckberg was born here and she has written 12 murder mystery book based in and around Fjällbacka. I organise guided Murder Mystery tours, book yours here.

The tour i a 1 hour walk in our beautiful village.

Salty swims

Fancy a dip? The sea is just outside the hotel, and along the Bottna Fjord you’ll find well-maintained swimming spots. The most beautiful is only 4 kilometers away: Badholmarna in Bovallstrand, famous for its cliffs, ladders, and diving platforms.

But there’s also a popular swimming spot in Gerlesborg, with a pontoon and jetty, just a 30-minute walk from the hotel — or 10 minutes by bike, which you can borrow from us.

Hunnebostrand & Udden skulptur

The Udden Sculpture Park in Hunnebostrand is a must when visiting the area — a perfect blend of an evening stroll and an art walk, all in one.

The park is open year-round and freely accessible to everyone. On mild days, bring your swimwear and enjoy a swim with art and the horizon in sight.

The village of Hunnebostrand has a long history but feels very modern, with many excellent restaurants during the summer. Our favorite is “Bella Gästis,” which is open all year round!

Smögen

Smögen, with its unique atmosphere, is Bohuslän’s most popular tourist destination.

It’s also home to Sweden’s most visited pier — Smögenbryggan — full of restaurants, bars, and shops. “See and be seen” is the motto, both on land and at sea! Luckily, you can always return to the calm of Bottna Inn after experiencing the summer buzz of Smögen. The first weekend in September, there’s a very special event called “Island of Light.” Stay at Bottna Inn and take the bus to Smögen — the perfect combination of excitement and relaxation!

Church tour

A nearly meditative experience is a church tour featuring Bottna Parish Church, Svenneby Old Church, and Bärfendal Church — all historic Norwegian churches dating back to the 12th century.

Kvilles’ impressive church, the largest in northern Bohuslän, has an equally striking history, with powerful Schartauan priests whose influence loomed over the region. We’ll guide you to both Bohuslän’s medieval and modern churches, offering a journey through centuries of history and architecture.
